This weekend my grandsons great grandfather was buried. He was 83. Since he had served in the military and was in several wars he had the 21 Gun Salute which is now 5 men and three shots fired. They also played Taps. It was so eerie because he was off at a distance and you couldn't see him. It brought tears to my eyes.
While there I noticed all the old headstones and their lovely patina's of age. I didn't take my camera and kicked myself for it. My grandson wanted to spend another night since his father and little sister were there. So today we went back to get him and I had my camera ready. You should be able to click on the individual photos and enlarge it.
And my baby boy was wore out.......

What beautiful pictures. I am so sorry for your loss.
Even though I live in Northern Italy where I just read your sad story, and even though I do not know you and may never know you, I can feel your pain! What I can only say is, ‘take heart!’ It’s very painful to lose dear ones… Anyway, that makes us humans…
